In 2011, 13 year old Kyle Benjamin wowed the fans at Mobile International Speedway a Rick Crawford Performance Track, with a spectacular ride off turn 3 that he turned into his first Pro-Late Model win in his first start at the Speedway.
Saturday night Benjamin will be trying to make lightning strike twice, as he makes his fist Super Late Model Start at Alabama’s Fastest Half Mile in round 1 of the Miller Lite Super Late Model Series. Benjamin will have his work cut out for him in a crowded field of Super Late Model Heavyweights.
Early entries for Saturday night’s 100 lap throw down, contains a star studded list of drivers; ARCA-Mobile 200 competitors Chase Elliott, Bubba Pollard and Thomas “Moose” Praytor are returning along with reigning Pro-Late Model Champion DJ VanderLey and former MIS Champions, Texan Casey Smith and Mobile’s Steven Davis.
Perennial favorite Augie Grill has filed an entry as well as Pensacola’s Logan Boyett. Oklahoma’s, Donnie Wilson is expected to contend along with Pearland, Texas’ Chris Davidson. Josh Bragg will climb down off the pit box as Crew Chief for Grant Enfinger’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series efforts to try and improve on last weeks runner up finish.
