Highlights from the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron’s 60th Anniversary of the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida
SEBRING, Fla (March 6, 2012) – After two-days of open testing for the IZOD IndyCar Series at Sebring International Raceway, Chevrolet power stood at the top of the time sheets.
On Monday, Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay took the top-spot behind the wheel of the No. 28 Team DHL/Sun Drop Citrus Soda Chevrolet was the fastest of the field when the times for the morning and afternoon sessions were combined. Tuesday, Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves put the No. 3 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet at the top of the leader board in the combined results of the morning and afternoon sessions.
Castroneves was second quick on Monday. His teammate Will Power, No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet, was just behind him on Tuesday, and the third Team Penske car, No. 2 IZOD Chevrolet driven by Ryan Briscoe, was third in Tuesday’s order.

Ryan Hunter-Reay posted the fastest lap at the IZOD IndyCar Series “Spring Training” at Sebring International Raceway.
SEBRING, Fla. (Monday, March 05, 2012) – Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay led the opening day of the IZOD IndyCar Series’ Open Test at Sebring International Racing
Hunter-Reay, driving the Chevrolet-powered No. 28 DHL/Sun Drop Citrus Soda car for Andretti Autosport, recorded the quickest time during the seven hours of track time with a lap of 52.5826 seconds. Helio Castroneves in the No. 3 Team Penske car was second (52.7092) and Simon Pagenaud in the Schmidt/Hamilton Motorsports car (52.7311) was third.
A total of 674 laps were collected without incident among the 10 drivers who recorded laps during the session.
