FAIRMONT, Minn. (Feb. 22) – Long-time fan and former sponsor Gary Jacobsen is the new promoter at Fairmont Raceway.

Five IMCA divisions will run Friday nights on the ½-mile dirt oval this season, starting April 13.

Point races for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and the newly sanctioned Mach-1 Sport Compacts continue through Aug. 31.
Jacobsen grew up attending races in the area and later helped in a sponsorship role at Fairmont. His son Greg raced a Northern SportMod and will be in a Modified this season; his daughter Rise` is married to former Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod driver Derik Schwanz.
