LaJoie, from Concord, N.C., powered the No. 07 Thermal Control Products/Sims Metal Ford to the lead on the event’s first lap, but pole-sitter Kyle Larson wrestled it away the next circuit and LaJoie ran second through the first quarter of the race. The 20-year-old regained the lead on Lap 37 and held on through the balance of the event that included eight more restarts for his first trip to Victory Lane.

“To put your name on the same page as Richard Petty or Tim Flock is really incredible,” LaJoie said of joining the legendary Bowman Gray winners list. “I have a long, long, long way to go to catch up to the prestige of those guys. I’m just happy to get in Victory Lane once to break that barrier.”

Faison Prepared For K&N Pro Series East Season Opener At Bristol
Hires Brandon “Chuck” Butler As Crew Chief

CJ Faison, an 18-year-old driver from Seaford, Del., has spent the last six months preparing for this season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, which kicks off March 17 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Today, Faison, together with his team JMI Motorsports, announced the addition of Brandon “Chuck” Butler to the team as crew chief – the final piece of preparation in their vie for the Sunoco Rookie-of-the-Year in NASCAR’s widely popular development series.

“We’re very excited to have Chuck on board with us,” said Ronald Faison, owner of JMI Motorsports. “Chuck came highly recommended and his own success speaks for itself. We can’t wait to get the season started!”

Mooresville, NC – Brett Moffitt has been named driver of the #11 Toyota Camry for Hattori Racing Enterprises for the 2012 NASCAR K & N Pro Series East.

Moffitt, a 20-year old Grimes, Iowa native will enter his 4th season on the K & N Pro Series East in 2012. He drove for Michael Waltrip Racing last season , and for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2010. In his rookie season, Moffitt drove for Andy Santerre Motorsports. His stats are impressive, in 34 starts, Moffitt has earned an seven wins, four pole positions, 20 top-5 and 25 top-10 finishes. Even more impressive is he has never finished worse than 3rd in the Championship points standings.

ACTION SPORTS STAR TO MAKE NATIONWIDE DEBUT IN RICHMOND

CORNELIUS, N.C. –Travis Pastrana will make a long-awaited NASCAR Nationwide Series debut in the No. 99 Boost Mobile Toyota at Richmond International Raceway on April 27.

The 11-time X-Games gold medalist and action sports star plans to run seven Nationwide Series races as well as 11 K&N Pro Series races in 2012. He’ll make his K&N debut in the season-opening race at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 17.

“The wait has been grueling,” Pastrana said. “This is one of the toughest things I’ve ever done. But we’re ready to go now. We have seven Nationwide races planned but if we can secure some additional sponsorship we’ll run more. If it were up to me we’d run every race after Richmond. I’m ready to get this thing going.”
