Dale Earnhardt NASCARDALE EARNHARDT JR., NO. 88 DIET MOUNTAIN DEW/NATIONAL GUARD CHEVROLET – FINISHED 7TH:

WHAT’S THE SATISFACTION IN A 7TH PLACE FINISH?
“It was fun. The car was fun to drive. And we’ve had a great weekend. For whatever reason, that last run we were really loose. When you look at all the guys I’m racing around, their track bars are on the ground and we’re running ours about three inches higher, probably. We’ve just got to figure out a way to get that down and get the car to rotate and get the rear grip in the car. But I had fun. We never really cured our problems on the track, but we had a good car and it was a real consistent team, so we’ve got that going for us. And we’ve just got to get a little bit more to get to where we can try to win some races.”

IS IT FRUSTRATING TO HAVE GOOD CARS AND NOT THAT THAT MILESTONE WIN FOR HENDRICK?
“Well, you want to win for Rick (Hendrick) and for yourself and your team. Everybody here needs a win for one reason or another. We’re all working really hard. I’m not really focusing on it or honing in on it too heavily. You’ve just got to think about what your car is doing and what you need to do to help your car and make your car faster and the wins eventually take care of themselves. We’ve just got to keep working and not thing about the big prize but just think about the little things we need to work on every day.” Read Full Article →

Kevin Harvick NASCARKEVIN HARVICK, NO. 29 RHEEM CHEVROLET, met with members of the media today at Kansas Speedway and discussed repaving Kansas Speedway, winning in 2012 and other topics: Full Transcript:

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE REPAVING OF KANSAS SPEEDWAY AFTER THIS WEEKEND’S RACE? DO YOU THINK THEY SHOULD DO IT? “No I’m never a fan of repaves. I think when you repave something it takes years for the racing to get back to the point of where things are. My understanding they have some issues; they hadn’t told me what they are, with the track.”

RICHARD CHILDRESS RACING (RCR) HAS YET TO GET A WIN AT KANSAS SPEEDWAY. HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR 1.5-MILE PROGRAM IS LOOKING?
“I think we have run fine this year. We went to what I felt was our worst race track last weekend in Texas and had good speed and wound up with a top-10. All in all you always want to be better. Clint (Bowyer) ran really well here last year and led some laps. It’s just a matter of putting a whole weekend together for us.”
